Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Dave Cote on Becoming a Software-Industrial Company at the World Economic Forum, good luck with that.

All the software this company had come up is crap. If that is what it is betting the farm on, it will be a long year for them. We are praying that the take over of our division by a third party is not canceled.

What division are you referring to? What 3rd party?

Colk, it may be true that Cote is a Gooper (I really don't know) but the TPP originated during the Dubya administration. Obama carried the ball on that, even though he was supposed to be a "liberal" but arguably it was a "liberal" trade deal, (go figure). Even though Hillary pretended to be "against it in its current form" she was probably lying like a Coyote (Cote). Both parties were pretty strongly divided for/against it.

I do believe that most multi-national corporations supported and even originated (wrote) it. It was all part of the master plan but in the end, it was such a t&rd it died of it's own stink.

Just more evidence that party affiliation doesn't matter.

You're right. I was referring to jet engines and more mechanical from which this great company was built.

If you think that developing avionics software isn't engineering then you should have retired years ago.

I guess with this explanation and the leading of the prime real estate in Atlanta, we're no longer an engineering company but more over a software company. Guess that explains the Honeywell Aero downsizing, consolidating, selling bldgd or canceling leases.

All the best to this left over st Aero

I guarantee that not all software Honeywell produced is crap. I'm proud of product we produced, my team. Industry wide it sits at a top. We have made Honeywell a lot of money and it's still making money. There are bad examples as well. Be careful when you generalize and speak in absolutes.

Dave Cote and his minions couldn't run a software or IT services company any better than their poor running of a multi-industry corporation that actually manufactures things.

Just look how good IBM, Dell, HP, and other companies who did similar transitions are doing. Read their threads on this website.

This is the last gasp of a worthless over-rated CEO. The only way to escape before the Titanic sinks.

He bet the farm on Hillary winning the POTUS election, and getting the TPP through, so now this is his only "vision" left (a me-too copycat).

Software is the main thing that Indians & other foreign nationals are supposed to be able to do. So everything will likely be off-shored except defense work, which cannot be (so far). That will have to be the case because no informed person in their right mind would want to work for Honeywell anymore, and Cote's philosophy of treatment of employees would prevent any competition for any top talent.
