Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

DMs got the gravy train, so stop complaining.

Am I the only one to think that the DMs got a great deal? Come on, one year to find another job, you keep your current salary, and yet have the same job duties as an average - maybe even PT - worker? If you can't find a job in retail as a former manager in one year, then you were probably demoted for a reason.

The DMs here in Florida make between $18 and $22 bucks an hour, so now they get manager pay and a regular worker's schedule and responsibility. Man, that's gravy.

Sorry, but shut up and start doing real work you - former - DM maggots.

Just take your remaking pay checks and invest in some scratchy tickets and then

Tell Nibble head bye bye.

Lowes idea is to get rid of the most dedicated and hardestworking {well paid} part of the business. My guess is that they are hoping the people who did not make the cut will just quit over the next few weeks. I am sure many of us will as I am starting a new job hunt. The one thing is we have some time to do it. I will never offer the level of dedication I once did. very few callouts, putting off doctors appointments due to no coverage. The best is they want to move me from a dept that has no one in it but me 75 % of the time to one that has a army in it.

Lowe's did this for 4 reasons. One they want stronger DM's and 2 they can't afford to lose all that talent at one shot would cripple them. 3 they want some DM's left when the ones the SM pick fail they have some that can step in and 4 to trick the shareholders. By saying it was only 1% layoff it's correct but over the year the DM's forced to leave or forced to step into a lower paying job will trick the numbers like how Obama tricked unemployment. Yes that claims dropped but that was because people hard part time jobs instead of full time and claims ran out.. Get with the program it's all smoke and mirrors.

This is obviously a company boy that still thinks he can try and climb the corporate ladder. Open your eyes little girl and stop trying to act like a hardass, because its very obvious you still live with mom and dad.

Or imagine a store where two siblings are both currently DM's. Being told that if only one of them gets a promotion, then the other has only 60 days. One has 4 children, and the other has one and one on the way. Insurance becomes the struggle here. Not everyone is in the same situation. Also, they only gave 12 months for DM's to train the new people. They don't want their sales to take a drastic hit because all their experience was forced out the door. Also, if one of the new service/support managers can't cut it, you have 6 DM's jumping to take their place. Lowe's was trying to cover their a-- is all.
