Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

our group just hired 8 contractors to back fill the layoffs from 6 months ago. This is the new norm, no more permanent hires, just get contractors. Contractors can be let go at any time with no official reporting. This is very bad: contractors have no incentive for long term, contractors dont know the whole picture, contractors take whatever they learned to their next company that hires them permanently.

The above article pretty much says it all, layoffs, share buybacks and billions thrown away on aquisitions. What are you people waiting for why do you still work there. Cisco is the new HP and it will show when you try to get out!

There are layoffs ongoing in Bangalore. I know two BU managers laid off this week. its Brutal here.

People (most likely HR trying desperately to keep things under wraps) can deny reports of layoffs and call them 'troll posts' or whatever - but you can't argue with WARN reports. These are undisputable and it just goes to prove LR's are continuing ALL the time at Cisco.
