Yeah all I've heard for months is that C stores are closing, SM's are getting laid off, DM's are getting the axe and anyone who is on-commission will be gone.
This was all supposed to happen on 1/27. There were hundreds of rumors and "I know a guy in HR". Complete crap, I won't be coming back to this site after today.
Spent months worrying about my job with today being the day and it's 100% silent. This is nothing but a FUD spreading website.
Glad we all keep our jobs guys :)

OP - Your so naive, you sound like a retail twerp. Layoffs dates and especially store closure dates shift constantly. Tons of variables like leases, HR bandwidth AR negotiations.
Take your own advice and stop coming here so you can be shocked when they cut your a$$. You really think since something didn't happen on 1/27 it won't happen? Your an idiot.
There WILL be more layoffs - it's not if, but when. It's the Verizon culture and they are bleeding money. Don't worry about certain dates. There's nothing you can do about being RIFd but just wait and see....If your name is on the list you are outta there. It happened to me and about 5000 other folks back in 2015.
