Pretty freakin' awful. CVX Management preaches accountability. Watson and his buddies need to look in the mirror. The "leadership" are not worth what they're paid. Time for a new lay-off, at the Executive level.

I could lose half a billion for the company for a lot less pay than Watson.
@3trb : this is true but in a just issued SEC filing states his performance and restricted units increased to make up for it. It's an interesting read.
Well, JW's stock options were cut from almost 1MM in 2016 to 250M for 2017. This is a bit late and not enough if you consider the last decade of wasteful spending and poor results on large projects.
XOM posts their earnings Tuesday morning.
As the financial media has said: "Chevron Oops!"
irv ... why are you posting on this board? You don't like the company, stop coming to this board and keep your venom to yourself
But, but....Chevron is the best company ever according to the butt obsessed fan boys on these boards.
You mean bigoted little hate mongers who cower behind message boards are wrong???? Nooooo.....Chevron never has fatalities, never does anything wrong and is the best company ever. Its all someone elses fault.
The press release says "Worldwide net oil-equivalent production was 2.67 million barrels per day in fourth quarter 2016, essentially unchanged from the 2015 fourth quarter. Production increases from major capital projects and base business were offset by normal field declines, the impact of asset
sales, production entitlement effects in several locations and the effects of civil unrest in Nigeria.
Net oil-equivalent production for the full year 2016 was 2.59 million barrels per day, a decrease
of 1 percent from the prior year. Production increases from major capital projects, shale and
tight properties, and base business were more than offset by normal field declines, the impact of
asset sales, the Partitioned Zone shut-in, the effects of civil unrest in Nigeria and planned
turnaround activity." Production would have been much higher if Gorgon and Angola LNG had not had operational problems. Interesting that those things are never mentioned in the press reports.
Sell sell sell
Another OE moment.
Admirable 2016 performance. The 2.5 year downturn has been the toughest and most challenging one I have seen in my 33 years in the business.
Just because some analysts were way off in their quarterly earnings forecast doesn't mean Chevron is at fault. Buy CVX on this dip.
