Thread regarding Sears layoffs

The fault and its cause..

So I'm watching t.v and I see a commercial for St. JUdes research hospital and I started to think that no matter what the reason Eddie and other may have to shut this company down the real loss is employment for many people but also cancer research and March of Dimes kids. So that while the lives of tens of thousands of employees are at stake and they may or not be able to find another job the money Kmart/Sears raises is not so easily replace.

So my point is, that every child that dies or has cancer that is prolonged, every family and child that suffers or dies because of the lack of funds for research or paying bills that were supported by donations from the customers of Sears/Kmart is on the head of every person who is doing this to make a dollar. It is on your head and the blood is on your hands. IF you believe in G*d then judgement day is coming and you will give an account.

How much is enough until you are satisfied? How much is enough until you consider yourself a success?

Is one million or billion more worth the pain and suffering you are projecting on employees, retirees, chlidern and families worth it? It just breaks my heart to think that whatever money that Kmart/Sears raises for various charities will soon end and children will suffer, families will suffer, a cure will be set back just for a few dollars more. Hope all involved can sleep at night.

Oh please. Every store you go in asks. Sears/KMart being gone will have 0 net impact on any charity. If anything these charities may do better by aligning with a decent major retailer.

the problem is that some people will not donate on line. Some people will not think to give or sit down to write a check. Yes, some businesses will use it as a tax deduction but the point is that many people will not have the opportunity to give because they were not asked. Shame on corporate for doing this. Shame on the greedy, that for $1 more will let a child or a family suffer. Isn't a mansion or a few million dollars enough? I guess it is like Rockefeller when asked when did he have enough money replied when I have $1 more.

losing your cashier job at k mart shouldn't be compared to dying from cancer as a child...

Stores collect money like this for their own benefit. You give them the money, they take the tax deduction and make it look like they are kind hearted.

customers will donate at other stores and will have more money left to give to charity.
