Found that being a part of this organization people with glamour and show sells more than real work .
1) Most VPs and directors spend hours together in parlors and gyms then in the office.
2) Run some projects for visibility with pomp and show and you have better chances for career growth.
3) Saw many smart people not being able to come up the career ladder because of a lack of glamour and most of them left with little.

Companies, governments, the local garden club, etc... all have these kinds of politics and abuses. Many of the causes are addressed in Psychology 101.
Aspiring vp types do have their pet show projects led by the favoured few...some hot industry tool or buzzword is picked .... after the promotions / visibility / personal branding nothing ever really comes of it in terms of $$ to company
