Getting out of this sinking ship as soon as I can. Applying all over. More layoffs in my building this week, but they're still bringing in new people in a new dept?? AND they're taking one chunk of employees trained specifically for one dept and handing it off to another dept that is NOT trained?? Come on!! We're on the chopping block and the lack of communication is incredibly stressful. Over it.

More people got laid off today this had nothing to do with outsourcing but cost and elimination. Does anyone know if these layoffs are just with upper management?

Comment to Tell The Whole Story. The thing is though, people that got laid off were full time highly credentialed coaches and HCM RNs, not limited term employees. You may be right about those employees and the company should explain. And I do agree with you about using company equipment for personal use. I never used printers or equipment or computers for personal issues. That is not right, but I seriously doubt those people who used printers cost the company millions of dollars in loss causing the layoffs.

I am looking yes, I am not impacted but in fear of it being me at any day now. My metrics are never as good as the horse race, and I never understood that whole corporate concept anyway! The past 2 years I would comment in the comment boxes and answer the surveys , always very respectful , to Mr. F and to Dr R, and never ever ever did they ever give a reasonable answer, or support or comprehensible rationale for metrics. And now, the metrics are rumored to be going up up up . Yea, because good people are laid off. And big meeting this week, will that just be the glossy comb over , hiding the real and bad issues.

If there are more layoffs, will they find ways to with hold severance? Scary, scary.

I did not get laid off but honestly I wish I did. F--- this job!!! And yes I'm leaving asap. If it were not for family obligations I would away so fast they could count it toward my f---ing metrics. I despise what this job has become. It is nothing but stress and pressure since the layoffs. It is unfortunate that Humana does not appreciate anyone as professionals and everything I used to enjoy of this job is gone.

Lol. It is a shame about the printers. How will people pay their mortgage without printers? And I for one have never been told of any outsourcing.

Tellthewholestory: We all come here to vent during a stressful time in our work lives so I hope you now feel better, too. That is awful about the printers and use of paper! It sounds as bad as losing a job or having it completely changed suddenly like a new boss or schedule or losing your scheduled PTO...

What most are failing to mention is that any lay offs were told months ago that their departments were being outsourced. Just today two areas who had been told prior where given May 1st as the final date that the full outsourcing would take place. No one also seems to realize that this is also the time of the year that the limited term employees brought in for open enroll, ent scatter to find positions or have their last days. There are so many useless teams and departments this was bound to happen. Just like the mass yanking of printers on each floor, because they were being used more for personal printing then for work. I've watched people print their entire catalog for school or shopping on printers. I don't see any of you acting like you are being robbed when that happens. Oh that's right, that's just an added perk.

Actively looking and applying. Same as someone else, severance not worth sanity. Dread every work day more and more. I'm sure they will find a reason to terminate, rather than lay off. Pretty sure that's the real reason for push in the metrics to unrealistic numbers. Meet that, will fail audits because you can't have quantity and quality to expectations. They'll get us one way or another.

With those severence packages comes threats. We were told anything can get it taken away..including looking at this layoff site? I can see why they tell you not to throw the boxes away for wah computer stuff. 700 layoffs....crazy. we were told if we go to media and they find out it gets taken away. They offer internal but everything is a rejection after rejection. I am now looking externally to repair the life they screwed up my my husband, 2 children, and myself. According to websites they did well in revenue.

Are they obligated to offer a severance package? With all the selling of stocks, retiring and restructuring who's to say they won't claim bankruptcy and not have to offer one. When CEO's start to jump ship it's time to start looking.

Actively applying and will take first offer made. That is what they want, right? For us to find our own new jobs so they don't have to "assist" us. The severance package is not worth my sanity.

Everyone is looking at the current job market in their areas but will wait until action is taken by Humana before getting serious about applying to other positions.
