Question post sabbatical

I'm currently on sabbatical (Intel non-exempt) I found a new job that wants me to start soon. What are my obligations when I return from sabbatical? Do I have to fill a two week notice to get my pa/vacation hours paid?

No company can penalize you for not giving prior notice of two weeks.

You can quit on the same day you return.

According to US Labor Law - employment is AT WILL 😔 😐 😔 which means.. you can leave your employer whenever you want .. while at the same time ..

Employer can likewise terminate an employee on a given day for - any reason - without cause - and without any warning.

Good luck!

My concern is could I be penalized for quitting on the day I return from sabbatical rather than returning and giving a 2 week notice..???

2 weeks notice of departure from job - is common work etiquette and courtesy to your employer.

What are you really asking 😐 😐 😐 ?? ??

Most employers will wait two-four weeks for a person offered a job to join their work.

So 😐 😐 😐 what's your concern - or are you just looking to post anything to fill up this website page ??

You are asking a tactical question about a strategic direction.

First, I think leaving Intel is a good idea. Intels best days are behind it and as you get older, HR wants to make room for new people (aka young).

Second, then why let two weeks pay influence your decision to position yourself for a better long term plan ?

If you want to leave, leave. Then push to get as much out of Intel as you can and accept what they give you.

You aren't obligated to do anything for Intel.

You can leave at any time and get your vacation pay.

Make sure that you work for 2 weeks post sabbatical unless you added days to your sabbatical? If you added anytime at the END of your sabbatical it needs to add up to 2 weeks or you will have to pay 8 weeks worth of pay if you leave. In other words, you have to work 2 weeks post sabbatical in order not to pay Intel back for sabbatical.
