Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Time for reflection...

Do you guys really think all your negative comments come from empathy and help in any way? Life is about change. If you were let go and you did not like the company you were working for, isn't it a relief that you are out and got some money?

If you are one of those who are still in the company and think sh-- about it, why don't you leave? Are you tied to your chair or have such a low delf esteem that do not dare to find something else out in the market?

What's the point in complaining?!

Time for reflection... I recommend you go to therapy because the only one who suffers that negativity, is you! Don't believe me... just put it into practice. Best of luck for everyone

To the author of the 'Time for reflection' post, I feel sorry for you. You have been drinking so much koolaid it has impaired your vision. This blog is an outlet for employees to express how they feel and how they feel is their business, not yours. These posts bother you? don't read the blog. As for me, I am glad that this web page comes on top of all the google searches because young and talented software developers need to read this before they apply for a position in your company. They need to be warned about what they are stepping into. Thank God the word is out already and young talents are already avoiding you. We are out of there and, yes, happy to be, whether we left on our own accord or were let go. So yes, you are right, we are blessed. I only feel sorry for you and your lot. You are the ones who are hiding behind a run-down company holding on to a routine job working on un-innovative technology for the sake of a paycheck and pretending to like it. Everyone is jumping off the sinking ship, even executives, don't you see? The time for reflection is for you my friend, time to wake up, pull the wool from over your eyes and decide. You don't believe me? Look at the numbers, quarterly results, etc. You may not like what we have to say, but the numbers... they dont lie.

Negativity comes because of poor employee recognition. People appreciate if companies have standards and discipline. Some companies do trade-off between talent vs long term staying, which is a good thing for long lasting of company. But what here happening is there are good products and so customers paying for it as it is fulfilling there needs, but there is very poor support for this which is leading to no new customers willing to come on basis of quality. The most of employees who are retained are not capable of studying what the product can do. There is lack of learning ability and still they survive and promoted by folks in management as the appreciation is given to who are good in giving company or listening to their personal stories or chatting on other than work. It also make sense to see these things while working in team, but need to be balanced trade-off. What is happening here is, only looked at things other than software skills. HR says to look at attitude while hiring and HR definition of attitude is learning ability, but the interviewer has completely different mind set.

And you apply for HR positions once you are fired. I recommend you not therapy but Scientology, you are all ready half way there.
