@MAGZxcv-1vsl or Samsung Galaxy with their 10nm Aps processor.

Funny everyone is so proud at Intel in crushing AMD and AMDs fumbling of the last few years. But nothing was worse for Intel. AMD was the only thing that kept INTEL even remotely honest and not lazy and arrogant. AMD kicked Intel with innovation after innovation and designed chips that were small and more area/performance efficient for a while. For a little bit they exposed what a bumbling set of fools Intel process / design was, but over the past few years they fumbled it away and the bozo's at Intel become arrogant and lazy. Now x86 volumes fall, people buy x86 servers because they have no choice, but soon they will.

Pretty soon on TSMC/Samsung 7 and 5nm you'll have server level power in your pocket, makes for interesting times as TSMC/Samsung scale will be huge. Those two companies will have resources, money and scale that drawf intel the way Intel drawfed AMD/DEC and others 15-20 years ago, and we all know what happened then.

More ACTs are all but certain at Intel

Which company is bigger?

TSMC or INTC?

Which one is the lead for volume ramping of mobile processors driven by the largest company in the world (AAPL).

It's all nice to show charts but products drive profits and Intel has dropped the ball big time on delivering products that people want.

Nobody I know is waiting for cannon lake 10nm. Everyone I know is waiting for iPhone 8 on TSMC 10nm.

@MAGZxcv-hss and you believe the Manufacturing Day propaganda about Intel being 3 years ahead?

They "were" three years ahead three years ago when 14nm launched, but 10nm is now more than a year late! TSMC 7nm and Samsung 7nm could appear in volume next year earlier than Intel volume, let's not count a few hundred thousand Canon mobile, but let's measure by 50million+ ramp of a volume product.

My money is TSMC/Samsung get to 7nm before Intel get's volume on 10nm. Then we can talk about who is talk and who is fluff!

Just because TSMC calls it 10nm, it doesn't mean that it's 10nm. Yes, Intel's schedules slipping again is highly embarrassing, but people should also stop falling for TSMC's marketing billshut.

Hey, don't post the truth here... Stacey Smith might get frustrated! Recently he seemed a bit frustrated that investors are losing patience with Intel and actually starting to ask hard questions about the roadmap slips. Well, on a serious note, is anyone truly surprised by this? The new norm with Intel is late on nearly everything and roadmap delays that are measured in years versus a few months...

For a company that claims it is three years ahead of the competition they seem to be slipping their latest 10nm products every quarter, soon they will be behind.

Samsung is launching their latest Galaxy with 10nm

Apple is launching their next iPhone with TSMC 10nm

Both companies will be shipping 50 million + volume/quarter and ramp far greater volume than intel on x86. This is a huge and fundamental problem for BK and TMG that they have no solution.

a masterfully slipped holiday refresh .... lowering expectations bit by bit, far in advance of the anticipated ship date...
