Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Does Oracle still show you as "employed" while you are on severance?

I received an 8-month severance at a former employer. When my new company checked my employment history, I was reported by my old company as "employed" during those 8 months.

Anyone know if Oracle records you in the same way?

No, but supposedly they bar managers from being references for your job search. That means they still own a piece of you.

Hell no, once you sign that separation agreement it's over.

Severance is just money, not employment

they don't. i requested a letter of employment from them and the end date was the actual layoff date and not what would have been if severance was added.

If Oracle don't pay your severance if you're been hired by another company, I'd say Oracle just screwed the pooch royally. They cannot with hold your severance unless you've been rehired by Oracle. Good luck.
