Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

4/6

Here is what I've heard from a reliable source.

•RSS eliminated

•Field Ops reduction- Larger territory

•Districts becoming larger- Not everywhere but some realigning

•SMB store specialist eliminated ( They literally just started this role and it's completely pointless)

• Floating GM eliminated

•Hiring Freeze- also head count reduction

•Indirect AM at the National Level eliminated ( however not sure if this is happening right away)

• Limited locations closed/ being turned into indirect (also something that might not be happening Thursday but will happen before Q2 is over)

Fair has nothing to do with profitability

So the only additional growth that the SMB channel brings in is consumer to business conversions? That's laughable! YOY growth over 300% is most definitely a viable solution to increasing growth and profits.

I don't buy that SMB Specialists are profitable. SMB adds might be way up but yoy growth is marginal or static. If SMB growth was legitimate then all ships would rise with the tide. Something doesn't add up and Excel can pinpoint why.

Transitioning an account to SMB prior to adding lines looks good on paper. It does not contribute to the overall profitability of the company. Paying two different channels for the same results previously achieved by one channel does not a happy investor make.

The SMB Specialist position is actually one of the highest revenue generating positions in the company. SMB growth is up nearly 300% since the position became company wide.

Smb specialist was the only profitable team in 2016. Not pointless whatsoever.

Stores within 20 mile radius of another location should be concerned

Smb specialist is only new in certain territories and been around in other for a while. What are odds they get rid of all versions of them?

I still have heard SM are being cut but based on stores already having headcount freezing I think they Will eliminate the position that way.

It's all so confusing. Now SM's are being less of a focus in recent posts. I still wouldn't feel too safe with it.

What about SM's? If they do cut SM how is it fair to not have a job just because you work in a large location? That's bull sh--
