2eye, thank you for your rational analysis of the situation. Students are still being enrolled, am I correct? If that is happening it should not be. EDMC has no track record for success at graduating students at any rate that it would make it logical for the US taxpayer to continue to invest in it. If you did a poll of former students I'd be willing to bet the majority would tell you they wish they had never heard of the place because 85% of them didn't graduate but have debt. And the system is broke. Admissions is calling the same inquiries over and over and over, grabbing on to any poor soul who qualifies for aid and has a dream. Do they have the academic ability to maturity level to take on college level work? Who cares, just get them to sit two weeks. Shut it down already.
Sorry to say but name anyone who graduated from Argosy with a $60k + degree that actually makes enough to pay their loans. This school is a joke people get out while you can

There will always be those who hate to see students raise themselves up, but that is what we do at Argosy. Sorry to disappoint everybody when out students graduate and maybe even turn into doctors we will know that all of our work payed off. Hatars!

The problem is that all this anger is focused on people who had little or nothing to do with the problem anymore. The previous board, CEOs along with Goldman Sacs took the money and ran a long time ago. The current CEO has only been with the company a few years and his goal was to stabilize the mess and try to sell the company to a white knight. Closing campuses and laying off employees was inevitable. Goldman pushed for quarterly profits and tried to make EDMC into U of Phoenix model. Growth growth growth. But you can't maintain growth in a dying economy and dwindling student pool. Millenials are aging out and Get Z is much smaller so all colleges will see a downturn in the next decade. They are also more cautious about tasking on debt after watching older brothers and sisters drown in it with little job opportunities. Is this the responsibility of EDMC, of course not. The promise of a rising middle class is no longer realistic in the age of deregulation and corporate profits. As for the Dream Center, their only hope is to lower tuition and fight for those students who want attend college but unwilling to do the 90k commitment... and who blames them. Nothing worse then having a degree in Animation and you make minimum wage at Game Stop. Sorry Millenials you bought the dream in a downturn economy. Get Z has to be smarter shopper. Millenials it is your turn up to bat in government and leading our country... You want to change the system change the leadership, but don't blame EDMC, or U of Phoenix or ITT...they just played the game that is corporate America. Just ask Trump about the importance of the DOE, which he plans to dismantle over the next four years.
