Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

What we need to do!

As someone that has been with this company over 15yrs, I say we need to make public the fact that we all need to.

" live in the grey area" to hit our numbers. If we sell by the credo we will never succeed, we are now being told we need 5 hum, at least 7 tabs and 5 jetpacks a month........also we need to hit 60% tmp, oh and don't lower anybody's bill..if they want to drop their plan they need to go online or call care. The shadyness is horrible, lets also bring in the union, I generally can't stand unions, but it will f the higher ups, you know, the ones that are making all the crap decisions that are driving this company into the ground.

"So Mr Customer, I have great news! I have a great plan for you which will give you a much better value! We can get you this amazing ellipsis tablet, it's FREE! You just pay $10 a month for access! How does that sound?"

"Actually now that you mention it, some a--hole gave me one of those 2 years ago, let's disconnect that kthx"

This company is a joke.

The numbers are IMPOSSIBLE unless you're throwing shade or fudging numbers with step downs / false churn.

Good Luck Guys! I'll be taking my package and PEACEEEE!!

Seriously, you're mad about 17 strategic products in a MONTH??? That's less than 1 per working day. Hell im a credo living mediocre rep (well, just inside the top half in my district anyway) and even I'm good for 10 or 11 tablets a month and 3 or 4 hum. I'm sure I've picked up 3 other strategic in a month many times.

You want to know the grey area? Try having a 79 device quota and an $8600 bucket IN A C STORE.

A C store that isn't getting shut down, so I have to keep living with $800 commission checks until a better store has an opening.

LOL you guys call those numbers targets?

Chump change. Any SALES rep worth a damn can hit double-digits without living in the 'grey-area'.

Sharpen up your selling skills and maybe you wouldn't have to worry about it.

Ah come on.... Anyone making above 1.2 and saying the aint playing in the gray zone is full of it. Quotas are stupid high, hum and tab requirements are ridiculous (10/10 in my case) Act fees went up, they cut tmp pay out by a ton. You gotta play in the shade to keep this crap up. Now i will give you that there are those that do gray and those that go full on black. There is a difference between 1.5 a 1.8/1.9 that can be met unless you go full pirate on gramma

Not sure where you guys are working but door swings in our district are down by half, and I'm in a major metro market, might go half hour without a customer in the store, dm says get used to it, we are struggling to hit 75% of our overinflated quota, adds are down, renewals are way down, tabs are impossible to sell, most people were slammed with free ones two years ago and want to cancel them, the days of retail, at least commissioned sales are numbered, agents will be the front line as it's much cheaper for VZW. I've heard talk from MGMT of small satellite stores to perform "service" for customers.

Customers should buy the products because they want he products. If they're as good as they claim to be reps shouldn't have to resort to shady practices. It's fully possible to sell with integrity just a shame so many reps choose not to. Verizon as a whole creates these shady reps though by pushing insane quota numbers and forcing reps to come up with ways to hit numbers. Those practices won't go away until Verizon relaxes on the quota or gets rid of quota entirely

I will say not every rep is shady, I've seen my fair share of shade. On a daily basis I see those tablets that were free 2 years ago being cancelled, people coming in from other stores saying what's this hum thing? They gave it to me and said it's part of the plan now, is that true? I hear customers ask do I need this to get this great plan, oh of course you do it's part of the bundle plan...Like I said not every rep that does really well is shady but it's def 80% shady reps and 20% skilled sales people. All these young bucks who just started with the company is the problem

What you need to do? You need to go away quietly which you will do if you are cut tomorrow.

The survivors will continue to be Verizon's biznatches until they get cut.

Because retail is going down the toilet and it's an idiotic job anyways.

So shut up with your rightchous BS...

It makes sense for a company to prioritize positions that directly impact profits, correct? How could a sales rep not sell 5 hum and 7 tabs per month? You would have to be sleeping on the job to not hit those goals. Sorry. Any sales job will have quota. Those expectations are honestly low. With integrity but some excitement it is still easy to hit the numbers expected.

I also find it funny that, as an RSS, the company wastes so much money on shipping costs. I mean each store gets how many boxes a week with a single case in it that the company pays overnight express costs for, but hey let's cut people instead lol.

Wow, I thought just the South Central Market was shady...seems like Verizon is shady across the country. The company must now but it chooses to ignore the shadiness and continue to push our targets higher to prevent us from making money.

I like how they say layoffs are "for the business" is it also "for the business" to spend on pointless conferences. Is it also "for the business" to keep handing out millions in bonuses. Don't take "for the business" anymore! Enough is enough.
