if i cant find a job soon me and my small family could be homeless. I will keep my faith in God so i can see the bigger picture.

I would truly enjoy meeting " Post ID: @MF6Uvw6-qso", as I guarantee the statement that they depicted indicates that they are overly shallow, heartless & more than likely their life is kind of bitter, and they probably bullied people in their younger days too!

You my friend should show some respect for a person raising children, who is now concerned about their livelihood that cares for people who are innocent in this situation.
To impacted, I was laid off in 10-31-2015, as I was with the company for 17 years. At first I was upset, but after roughly 1 week of pondering what I might have done wrong, I quickly realized it was nothing, as my boss was getting axed, but our overly short director gave him my 125k position because they both were in bed with a real estate firm in the Northeast and kick backs, and knowledge of this was aware by all.
I started applying, tweaking my resume, and on my last day of employment at VZW, I had 4 job offers to choose from. 2 of them paid less, 1 was identical, & 1 paid alot more, but required travel 4 days a week. Ironically, I choose the position that paid roughly the same, but my new position acquired on 1-2-16 gave me a better life balance, especially with 4 kids & a wife. Basically, I was unemployed for 1 day, 1-1-2016, as my last day was 12-31-15 on VZW payroll. My wife and I joke about the good old long stressful days of Verizon Wireless past now!
It is hard at first, but believe in yourself, and don't listen to scumbags like the one post about having no sympathy, again intelligence isn't their friend! You will make out better, and you will be able to share your story with someone in the same position as you in the very near future as VZW will be reducing alot more people than this! Hopefully it will be the non sympathetic scumbag!
Note: my old bosses by the way, oddly enough found themselves in some legal troubles roughly 6 months after I left, as apparently bid rigging, accepting kick backs is kind of illegal! Love it!
Sending prayers and support your way! There IS life after Verizon! I was laid off last go around in November of 2016 and it was the BEST thing to happen to me. It may seem devasting now, but my quality of life improved almost immediately. There is certainly life after Verizon. I have been able to focus on what it is I really want to do and follow my passions. Now, I am in a position doing what I LOVE with GREAT work-life balance. I took a slight pay cut, but it is sooooo worth it. To anybody being impacted today, I would say to keep the faith and know that YOU WILL BE OKAY!
Keeping you in prayer. My husband was laid off many years ago and found a better paying job closer to home. It was a stressful time but God was looking out for us. Hang on to God's promises. It's what helped me get through. God bless.

My husband and I were both laid off in the lay offs of Oct '15. He had been with the company for 17 years, I had 13 years in. We went from being a dual income family to a no income family in a matter of 30 minutes. We were scared out of our minds. Looking back over a year later, we are both in great jobs. Right now you feel like your world is ending, but there is always something to be thankful for. When I worked for Verizon, I felt like there would be no other job that would be as good. I was wrong. They are out there. Rely on the skills that you learned during your tenure, and MOVE ON! You'll be ok! Prayers for you during this time...I know how hard this is!
Everyone working today needs to have a Plan B. How could you have lived for so long without investing in your future? Which you knew for years that you were on the edge in your current job. I hope you find another job in time to save your family and you are lucky this is becoming a much improved job market, but make an oath now to start your Plan B immediately. You just can't expect to have any employer be as dedicated to you as they expect you to be loyal to them.

The person who said they have no sympathy - I would hope your a better person than that. You don't know anyone's situation and what they are dealing with.

I was let go last round and I'm proof that it's going to be OK. You'll be fine. Deep breaths. Strong drinks. Faith. You'll get through.
