Because Eddie and current leadership have no pride in the brand. They would rather sell garbage for small margins than properly manage a quality retailer.

LOL not naive, really? People buy this crap by the cart full thinking they are getting such a good deal on that gold over resin garbage. Just wait until they come back 2 months later because it's falling apart trying to get a refund. Then they yell and scream when we say no and they say I'm never shopping here again. We just say, see you next week.

High margins as posted below. Check the snuck. People buy it thinking they're getting a deal. It's really high end costume jewelry but the customers sometimes think they're buying heirloom quality.

I have a ton of jewelry from Sears.....buy all the clearance online. I think the quality is appropriate for the clearance prices. I have bought it b as gifts for nieces too.
