Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Solution specialists might get the worst treatment

Seeing that Verizon is going through layoffs today, the sales team may get a worse fate due to being managed out instead of a severance option. The QUOTAS have not decreased and are not foreseen as being decreased so the next round of unseen layoffs will be reps that cannot obtain a payable quota. This keeps verizon from throwing out money to people they can quietly release as regular business continues to decrease. Yes I'm at the lower 20% but not because I don't try my best to sell but because the traffic in my location has withered away and with an increased headcount that will be chopped with the Verizon pip I won't last the next 2 months while these people get a severance package to hold them over for a short stint (hopefully). To anyone losing their job today remember this day is not your fault and stay positive when you go in to the next interview you have. You are worth it

Any sales person getting RIF'ed effectively gets paid 70% of their commission prorated as part of severance. So if someone isn't hitting their numbers they will likely get paid better in severance than they would normally.

i used to tell reps to make sure the SMs knew that the SMs worked for the reps.

You do realize high quotas effect

Managers too. If sales reps don't make money, managers don't make money. A high quota effects everyone that is paid on quota performance. Managers also have accountability measures in place like sales reps when stores don't perform.

if the rss' were hired as rss', maybe it could have worked. but they weren't, they were still just lazy ccr's with a different name, and possibly showed a slight aptitude for organization.

It's funny how everyone talks about poor SS people so much pressure...yet they cause 85-90 percent of the jam ups! Rss no one feels sorry for them when they spend hours fixing SS F ups. Yet they get canned.

You could make a 2000-2500 commission check a few months ago and still be low on scorecard and they threaten to pip you. Trust me I was there. I am a contract pig but couldn't sell ard or new because it's completely saturated here. No one wants hum or tabs.

If you're so blind to the point that you can't see going to President's Cabinet practically means you're a crook, get glasses.

you problem reps always think you know everything.

is it illegal to value sell?

are you committing fraud when you sell goods for services that have an agreed upon price?

being unethical isn't always a crime, b--ch.

You can be #1 in your store and bottom 20% of the region if your store is seeing 50% traffic declines that other stores aren't. That would not be your fault.

Not your fault you are in the bottom 20%. I mean the top 20% face the same obstacles as you, but they don't succeed where you fail because of anything you do. Also not my fault i drink too much and am fat. It just happened to me.

My thoughts were if SMs are being laid off or reduced that the bottom SS's were being let go to make room for SM's to return to sales. But I am far from informed on this. I'm not sure anything will happen today since my GM isn't even here
