It's going district and live chat. They serve no function with day to day hiring and operations of the store. You have some covering 2 or three stores and the majority of communication is email.

If you have an issue or need support video chat and call it a day.

funny about this post.....if you look at jobs on macysjobs.com or insite, there are a HR job postings. if they were about to do something, they would freeze all the jobs. i also know somebody who just got promoted to a corporate HR job.

will the cuts come...yes...probably...but not as soon as the person believes who posted this original thread.

I am curious what district. There is a 149 page document with all the severed positions company wide and all districts have some kind of AST cut. This document also shows all other positions from management to associate level cuts from January.

I could understand if some corporate HR jobs went away. The HRM's are concerned and some where cut in January. Many HRM's know that Macy's is one of the few retail stores with HRM's. Also, watching the 1HR webcast earlier in the year, would make them questions, what will be their role in the future.

As for AST, how could they cut them more? There were massive cuts to AST in Januaury. Have you seen the spring ownership for AST? All stores have 1 supervisor which is included in the AST base, I think it is only Herald Square that has an AST Manager and 4 supervisors, but this year they combined the HR part of AST with the rest of AST.

Why would they be laying off corporate HR? Who do you think is dealing with the new ask HR button and Salesforce?

Email last week went out about a call this week speaking about HR and AST reductions in store.

They are more than likely going to go to 1 HRM per district and be routed to needed stores via corporate and sales force. As for AST....why do You need more than one FT person per store? All they do is sit there and eat and gossip. The AST Supervisor is the the VPSM personal secretary. Waste of time and payroll.

Where did you hear this?? I am not surprised if it happens, but let's see. Many stores do not have HRM's but coordinators. With the release of ONE HR and salesforce being launched this past week, HRM's are worried and so should be the ones in corporate.

That would make sense 68 stores closed.
