Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Any update on WFH employees?

I know a few still WFH. I wonder what the company is planning on doing with these. This has been dragged out for far too long. Not fair for the guys already in the office.

-rle We get really tired of you trolling on this topic.

As to the original question. I think they have 'acted' on all official WFH employees. All are either working on location, been given a severance package or have been given an exception and allowed to continue as an official long distance WFH employee (very few exceptions were given as I have heard).

It is sad that the part time WFH employee has lost the ability to benefit from the ability to have a quiet productive day and have meetings with teammates on the other side of the world.

We have lost many very good employees because of this policy change. It is very sad.

-rle It sounds like it is not your opinion but based on your personal experience. Just saying.

Agreed - it takes a certain type of personality to excel in a work from home environment - you need to be self disciplined and have a good work ethic. I worked form home one, sometimes two days a week ,for the past few years and really liked it. Between night time phone calls from home and regular work hours I worked an average of 50 hours a week. I had less distractions in my home office since coworkers weren't stopping by and felt my productivity and focus was as good as if not better than at work. And as the troll mentioned there are indeed conveniences. Could dress in shorts and a T-shirt, could be home if a service person came to the house (fix air conditioning, gardener, mail delivery, etc.), would work even if sick on a day I wouldn't have driven to the office, was near my refrigerator, etc. The other things he mentioned about running errands, playing video games, etc. honestly didn't happen and is just him stirring the pot - pathetic that he thinks productive, ethical work from home people would spend hours on crap.

Work from home is a legitimate situation for a disciplined, ethical employee that has a job which fits that situation. Sad to see it go away and my work week now averages 45 hours a week (cant get away from those night time phone calls/meetings with other countries) and I would love to still be able to work from home one day a week. Hopefully, Honeywell will see the light and allow in the future. If they are honest when recruiting new hires, if they say WFH is not an option they are probably losing a lot of talented people who ar going to more enlightened companies.

If you don't understand how people can be VERY productive in a WFH situation, my guess is that you don't get much done at the office, either. It's OK, being a corporate asset isn't for everyone.

Yea.... yea... yea... Mr Dedication. If review does really matter to you, keep licking the ground your master stepped on.

We have a troll here, posting same BS over and over again: @MFjRdBp-pal

We are not in kindergarten here and have to achieve measurable results or deliverables. Playing video games will not get you there, so performance review should catch that

People are walking away from HON for less money? HUh, I led the for a 15% increase and benefits that cost less than half of what I was paying at HON (also am offered espp here...)

Problem is there are plenty of people hiring and HON is showing no interest in retaining

I call BS on that. I was working at home on contract for an Aerospace Company in the early 90's

and did it on and off from then until I came to work for HNY. If documenting your mileage work for the IRS work for tax write offs, then doing the same should work for HNY. It's an insult to my integrity.

Like they say, if people can't trust your word then you have nothing. All this will do will make more people throw up their hands and go away who have tribal knowledge. What good is this accomplishing?

It just goes to show the ALT and higher up (Dairy-a--) have no clue about how to run a company,

except into the ground. Time to stop talking benefits away from employees and

start offering profit sharing (I know, that a 4-letter word to leadership) and bonuses.

People are leaving HNY to take less $ at other Comapanies now. They know they can start low-balling HNY applcants now cuz they are so desperate to get out. But the work environment is "night & Day" from HNY, and that is a direct quote. WAKE UP HNY Leadership!!!
