Oil and gas jobs posted a second consecutive month of gains for the first time since the oil price crash began nearly three years ago, according to Bloomberg. Whooo hooo!

There is no surge in O&G jobs. Those could see some that are posted publically or internally for the PDC, but they are intended to be filled by internal candidates only. So, there could be a little game of musical chairs going on, but there is no creation of new jobs. Smoke and mirrors, since the net effect will likely be a loss of jobs. The real "surge" you could see, is a surge of people leaving the office forever.
Oil jobs surge...ya last month there was one open position in the state of Texas, this month there were two ... A100% surge!
1mio: That's right, there's no hiring boom at Chevron. Only a firing boom yet to come.
Go to the Chevron website and then go to careers section. What do you find in the exploration and production departments? I will give you the answer. Earth Science- no open positions. Drilling and Completions- no open positions. Petroleum Engineering- no open positions. Facilities Engineering- 4 positions, Australia, U.S., Thailand and Canada. That's all for the entire company. There is no hiring boom for exploration professionals at Chevron.
Russian hackers were responsible for the barrage of O&G job postings. We all had a laugh with that bit of news.
