Well it's a first this year, but the layoff total for the calendar year to date stay the same at 3,050. Yes there was a 5 person layoff in the HSGBU this week, which is sad, but it doesn't move the needle. Unfortunately, this is merely a temporary slowdown in layoffs, so keep looking for new job outside of oracle!

For HSGBU layoff- who was it? Developers or sales?
CGBU Bedford Ma reduced headcount by approx 50 in engineering.
Within a week or so started back-filling the vacated engineering positions with indians which the brought here to train for development and restarted to expand the engineering headcount for the India presence.
Is this a correction of the previously reported 5, or a layoff of an additional 7 people this week?
