I just overheard two HR managers at lunch that there is a major discrimination lawsuit by former business partner. What do we know?

2uzd, you are correct. HR do what the Business Unit managers tell them to do. Perhaps one HR BP had enough and had evidence on tape and emails.
Wow........people in HR are as unhappy as the rest of us. They always seem like happy minions. Chevron is going down hill very quickly.
HR is in protection mode. Backroom deals and handshakes lead the way. It's the Chevron HR way. There are 30 psg 20-23s that significantly out perform their managment team. Hold the workers down and promote the lazy people. The worker bees will not be let go in project next HR.
HR does management's bidding. They are clever little minions whose only purpose is to find legal methods to evade lawful sanctions of discrimation. Don't ever be the enemy of HR nor attempt to be their friend.
HR really hasnt had a layoff event yet. The ones that are gone must have been really terrible.
I have 31 years in this industry as a petrotech...this includes 3 different majors and 2 oil field service companies...HR has been the corporate dumping ground in all 5.
Right, lih. This will be settled, while the corrupt BU manager stays in place.
HR has the highest voluntary turnover at Chevron. The talent always leaves while the average get promoted. In the 31 years I have been at Chevron this the worst managment team by far.
She resigned or quit. She was not reassigned.
1yrt - What are talking about? There is never a severance payout if you are reassigned. You still are a Chevron employee, aren't you? Somehow, I think you're not serious.
This HR professional resigned without a severance. Hostile work environment.
I guess the post from last week was accurate. We dont bother to going to our HR manager and go to the business partner. She is alot better than anyone we have worked with in HR.
OP, most of us laid off in the last 2 years already know of the major discrimination than took place. Age discrimination is against the law, but Chevron (and all other mega corporations) do this all the time. In Chevron's case, they use the strict language in the Severance Waiver Agreement to ward off potential discrimination lawsuits.
I can verify that the OP rumor is correct. They have JWs personal attack dog NS on the case.
Very interesting. A few people need to go over this one.....assuming this is true.
That function is screwed up. Project next HR just removed all leaders (after a year of work) and replaced them with new HR people. The head is pissed that he has to start from scratch.
Another proud Chevron moment. The Chevron way.
I can confirm. The HR manager was hired from a contracting firm and the business partner has plenty of evidence against Chevron. This will get settled.
