Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

I am grateful and thankful for my co-workers I have had the pleasure of working with for almost 32 years.

My team had 84 years of experience combined. We were all loyal to this company and gave it our all.

Remember those so called buckets with our personal time and sick leave hours that were put there? I leave behind almost 250 hours personal and 192 hours of sick leave in these buckets that I lose. At Sam's it is never a good time for vacation or to be sick because you fall behind on your work.

This is what we get for giving our all. All the times that we came to work sick because we cared so much about each other.

Our audit playbook always required for audits to be completed, vacations or not. I worked with the best team.

I am grateful and thankful for my co-workers I have had the pleasure of working with for almost 32 years. However I am thankful for what this company provided for me and my family.

I have been with the company for 18+ years. I have 60 hours of personal time and 192 hours of sick leave. I would have had more personal time but used it for maternity leave.

In Feb. I rolled over 80 hours of PTO and was paid out for 284 hours.

I feel people with all that sick time (you can't use for yourself) are getting screwed for actually being at work and NOT calling in sick all the time.

Those that care are being pushed to the wayside. The company doesn't want anyone around with many years experience. They will save a lot of money by getting rid of them. They don't have to give benefits to part timers.

The raises we currently get s---. The past 2 raises were the worst ones I ever received. We no longer get evaluations that are worth anything. This company is a pathetic version of what it use to be.

I, too, have a bank full of hours. 222 personal, and 192 sick. I don't care about the sick time, but I think I deserve the personal. Our club, they were letting certain people put personal in, prior to the PTO change. I wasn't one of the select people to know I could do that. I am ready to go now. My club is run by a GM that was once a hourly 20+ years ago. He protects all of his buddies. He is slowly building his posse of peeps, not caring if they are the right people for the area. Oh well, I can't wait for this ship to sink like the Titanic.

A class action lawsuit needs to be started. I too was on the audit team and was a 25 year associate. I called out sick twice during that time. So the two buckets total over 275 hours of time that was earned. I guess the smart ones were the ones who called out all the time and used their hours. Very disappointed at the way Sam's Club has changed over the years. Now the hard part is deciding whether to take the package or stay on in another position and wait for the next ball to drop.
