Not many companies as hated as honeywell

Amazing and sad to see the persistent animus on this board. Clearly few companes have hurt their workers as badly as honeywell. It wasn't the layoffs either. Layoffs are done and still thIs board is active. A decade of reorgs and distractions drained the life out of the product designers. Now all leadership can do is buy new product teams and dump the old sites as fast as possible. I'm compelled to actively tell my georgia tech prof friends to steer new grads away.. they can do so much better.

@2afb - Yep you're right. Intentional self-mutilation-destruction.

With mega-mergers of corporations in general, they are becoming unmanageable giant t*rds. Everyone was told how GREAT it will be for the customers, employees, and 'mericans for these companies to merge into giant cash cows to be carved into steaks. In the end, customers & consumers, employees, suppliers, those who fly and pilot aircraft, all lose.

The number of fine people who have left Engines (retired) on their own volition over the past 18 months is astronomical, but since we're one of those nasty mechanical sites, who can blame them/us?

I think Dairyass is sinking AERO on purpose. They don't want to own any assets or employ any permanent HON employees; they want to be a cyber software company that merely sells rights. No one could afford AERO as it was, so the solution is to devalue it to the point where it's affordable to other companies. The best part is, while they're driving it to the bottom, the profit is yuuuuuge! It's a win win for the senior dipshts running Honeyhell. Mix in some disguised age based layoffs then make it so painful to stay that you drive out the rest. The problem of employing people then solves itself.

Honeywell should look very closely at the United incident that has done tremendous damage to United. Honeywell has the exact same corporate culture in place. Unless someone changes this at HON, it's just going to be a continuing downward spiral to the bottom. And it sure doesn't look to me like Darius will make the needed changes. He seems to be doubling down on the same failed policies and the cold hearted greed culture that got us here.

Heard a rumour that eluded to Timmy Baloney stating no more actions will be funded this year unless they're a safety of flight issue. If true, I'm sure our customers will love that decision! Sorry our junk doesn't work correctly but since it won't likeky kill you, you're gonna have to just deal with it because our shareholders and Dave's retirement are MUCH more important than customers or selling product. Another good decision brought to you by the ALT hahahahahaha.

The past ten plus years have not only leveraged benefits from the all employees (myself recently left with 35+) I had the eye-opening lunch with a young guy engineer that left for a better life at Boeing. It appears that the operators of Boeing aircraft are also similar cold-shoulder treatment from the HON business group. From a Boeing field support perspective, operators are requesting anything but HON components due to the poor level of HON management commitment to deliver and support fielded hardware. So sad to see the path taken by the present HON corporate team for short-term greed.

To OP, maybe no more formal layoffs, but as noted, we continue to have individual rolling layoffs via false poor reviews, etc

This kind of thing is part of a sick culture that starts with "we can't tell our leadership that" and goes down hill from there. This is true in several SBUS from personal experience.

It is all about constantly improving earnings per share even though revenue has been flat for five years and barely 10% higher than 2008. I hope that all of the cost cutting will result in the promised 10% year over year improvement in earnings per share. April 21 earnings announcement will tell the tale.

I was just an engineering spear carrier but casual comments from 2 Aero Engineering VPs were identical before their retirement last year: make the numbers no matter what. Nothing else mattered.

Good for you enl. I start Medicare in June so glad about that. No more non affordable HC crap to deal with. I had to exit ~ 3yrs ago. Just couldn't stand to put up with all the HOS stuff and what have you. It's fantastic being retired. GL sir!

Well, I got my Medicare card today, so will no longer need the overpriced Hon plan, so I am in a position to leave on a moment's notice. I started in 1968 and came back permanently (if there is such a thing -- we used to call badge number perm numbers) in '80, and have watched the company I used to love so much crater. Still would rather put money into the 401(K) (even with the reduced match) than take it out. Either way, I'm c---ed in the pissed-off position, ready to sprint.

Honeywell (commercial divisions) also doesn't pay and provide the same opportunities for women and minorities equal to their white male counterparts. Now that Trump is in office things will get worse:

On March 27, Trump revoked the 2014 Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces order then-President Barack Obama put in place to ensure that companies with federal contracts comply with 14 labor and civil rights laws. The Fair Pay order was put in place after a 2010 Government Accountability Office investigation showed that companies with rampant violations were being awarded millions in federal contracts.

It's true. I've seen of our best and most talented field service and project managers jump ship and work for the competition. Some get out altogether and work for say, Uber or First Solar. A friend of mine went to work for a major financial institution. His reasons were, no rush way for promotion, crap benefits, no WFH, no profit sharing, management is completely lost at this point and he was talking nothing to do with it. The 38% raise he also received didn't hinder his decision to leave either hahahahahaha.

All good points. I'm just going through the motions everyday with no fkcs given. HON only promiyies butt missing dipshts into leadership roles with few exception. I heard we are a software company now so since I don't work in software,I'm looking for another role outside of the company. Once I find one I can no notice quit a few leave as many programs hanging as I can. I'll call it a reverse lay off! HON has NO problem laying people off with no notice so it's par for the course.

As long as the stock is doing well, as it's been doing, they can get away with murdering their employees. Unfortunately, every time earnings are bad and the stock drops investors see it as a buying opportunity, and drive it to new highs. But something has to give sometime, although don't expect that cycle, or leadership's attitude towards their employees to change anytime soon, except for the worse perhaps. The more the stock goes up, the more they can get away with. Something seems amiss!

Years of stacked ranking (quota on so called underperformers). Nine block. Phony and dishonest reviews. Shrinking benefits. Crappy raises (no raise or bonus if you are in 'the elbow'). Layoffs. Furloughs. Shady supervisors who are perfectly fine with throwing loyal employees under the bus. No meaningful training, especially for older employees. Other than that, this is a great place to work.
