Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Fact: next round of RA's have been delayed in Canada due to this unfortunate incident. Paperwork is done and pink slips are pending. It will be interesting to see how long IBM decides to wait before continuing. My guess: 3 weeks.

There was a similar incident at the call center in Atlanta about 2 weeks before Christmas last year. An IBM sales employee that just got RA'd came in on a weekend and committed suicide in the parking lot after calling police. Management was quick to sweep it under the rug and would not discuss when questioned. Someone got a police report to confirm it was true.. So sad to hear this kind of thing happening.

Nothing is anonymous at IBM, big brother always watching, Watson and big data is big brother or that is what they would like. The stresses for various reasons are that high at IBM, I am surprised this type of thing doesn't happen more often. Sad for the person that they took their life, heroic statement in a way against IBM as it was on the premise done in a profoundly graphic way and public place at IBM. Extremely sad someone else was injured also, and odd with such a large area, target? Regardless of what they say it was a statement against IBM. There will be great spin put on this by big blue, the start of which was as one person said "letting out" they were on mental leave, bs propaganda, even if true. The rest of the spin or shutdown of news is to come, as no one ever leaves IBM because it was a bad company, yeah right. I expect with threats or money all will be silenced. The ones and companies you should watch most closely are precisely the ones that profess to be of highest values, most ethical and most principled, as they have you sign off on every year while forcing you to lie through your and their teeth, IBM, watch them closely. More should speak out in memory of this person that lost their life and change should come so their life wasn't lost in vain. The tyranny of big business is evil.

Police source indicates the person was on mental health leave ?

Who was the source, someone buying a coffee ?

How about verifying the source ?

If the person was on mental health leave:

1- this is confidential and wouldn't be shared to the public.

2-the persons id badge to allow access to any IBM buildings would probably have been revoked while on leave.

Smells like a smoke and mirror show to hide the truth, as suicide's are NEVER reported on the news.

Tasteless to makes assumptions like that.

Cutting of jobs has been increasing since 2007. Ten years of toxic crap, sadly this may have been a first but hope it is the last. May his tortoured soul rest in peace.
