Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

When I describe my job to people, they call it micromanaging

I just describe how we are managed and the changes that have been made and the level of scrutiny of our work. 100% of my friends and family have come up with the word MICROMANAGING on their own. I am mentally exhausted each day because I know I can be held to the fire for each second and I have to be 100% present. If they want to have these kind of standards, we should be compensated at least twice what we are making. I am looking for other work daily. I will gladly take a paycut for a more bearable job at this point.

Sorry, I didn't mean that my neighbor works in healthcare - she doesn't. I only mentioned her because the original poster was describing how people react when she tells them about her job. I guess I'm comparing apples and oranges when my work-from-home neighbor looks at me with a combination of amusement and pity!

Is the person's neighbor at an insurance co too? As an RN? I am so burned out from hearing more and more angry members plus yes the micromanaging. I do have a very good and fair coach who tries really hard. But the upper management and yes the aux codes timing every second.... I'm looking as well because this is just not rewarding except the pay is pretty good and of course wah is great. But is it enough when the next work day is just dreaded.

Very petty and th call reviews are not necessary. I hate this job just hanging on until I can do better.

Where does your neighbor work?!? Sounds amazing to be back to using our professional abilities of managing our time and getting our work done.

I left about a week ago. You can only pick yourself up by the boot straps so many times before you burnout! I'm taking some me time and time to shed the extra pounds I gained strapped to the chair and eating for comfort! I hated leaving a great paying job but the micromanaging was just TOO much! I'd honestly rather work anywhere doing anything than work there anymore! When will they realize we see through their BS no matter how they try to spin and push their nonsense! Good luck to all who still remain! There is life and light outside of Humana! I feel a huge weight has been lifted off of me!

It's a sick, sick degrading work atmosphere

Same here. The woman who lives next door to me also works from home. - got a different company. She laughs every time she sees me hustling to get my dog out and in for a speed walk, because I can't be in "aux 2" for more than 15 minutes. She says the company she works for doesn't care how she goes about her day, as long as she does her job. You know, like an adult. I'm the crazy neighbor saying "sorry, can't talk now. Only have 15 minutes." And that's on a good day when I can actually get a break in!

Then I told her about our call reviews where we are "graded" like children and how my colleague got "dinged" for saying "these calls may be recorded" instead of "this call may be recorded." My neighbor's amusement then turned to pity...
