Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Gave 2 week notice

Gave my 2 week notice. My manager is on vacation and I was told to fill out a form. It took me a few minutes to find the box for relocation among all the options listed. I am scheduled for 20 hours next week, a joke compared to the hours I got a year ago. I am waiting to see what my schedule for my last week is. A coworker who worked at my Sears as a 2nd job put in his notice and they did not schedule him for his last week. I will know next Thursday if they did that to him becouse of other issues or if it is being practiced as a way to free up a few hours for others who have not told management they are leaving yet.

Security risk as in going crazy? Or stealing?

When I left they scheduled me for 8 hours my last week. In addition to some other bullying tactics by the Store Manager.

They want you gone so you are not a security risk.

I have worked for Sears for over 20 years, and there are just as many good and bad people today that I work with as in the past. We are just facing different circumstances than in the past.....different retail climate etc.

To the person who gave the 2 week notice....you always just need to do what is best for you and your family. It sounds like you did that, so congratulations on taking a step to make your life happier.

You will feel better.

Terrible company. They are forcing people to quit so they can justify that SEC filing.

Let's face it. They don't have to justify the filing.

Used to be a great company. That ship sailed a long time ago.

Now it is run by a bunch of bullies.

It doesn't deserve to be called Sears any longer.
