They need to dump the thousands of "channel" people who call themselves "sales," but never sold a thing in their lives. Sad to watch what oracle has become....
That's what you get with LE and MH poping way too many Viagra pills, they have to do something with them selves and so they just start laying people off left and right
That's right. With zero communication from above you are not going to be execute any strategy.
This is what happends when the company lacks the maturity to communicate what it's doing, you get all kinds of ideas floating around. Serves LE right for not having the brains and decency to come clean and let people know what future plans look like. Best think for people to do is look for other jobs and leave asap. Good luck
Sad that the three stooges continue to fail to understand that lack of cloud deals if primarily due to the fact that oracle is trying to sell junk, rather than the people at oracle. But hey, by laying people off the three stooges look like they are action oriented and may just be able to fool shareholders into believing that they (the stooges) know what they're doing - They don't! Good luck everybody! There's definitely life after oracle, a much better one in fact.
Two thirds of the sales force will be reduced after Q4 is over. The same percentage applies to sales reps and sales engineers. Expect lay offs early to mid June. SE pillars being replaced by Oracle Direct / Digital. Pillars are going away.
Enterprise cloud architects will be reduced based on cloud deals closed. An ECA with no cloud deal will be let go. ECA that did not complete certification will be let go. ECA's that don't pass teh review boards will be let go.
General consensus is that lack of cloud deals is due to unqualified sales engineers in ECA roles. They will be replaced by AWS and Google sales engineers. Though process is that its easier for cloud SEs to learn oracle apps and tech than for Oracle SEs to learn cloud.
Should of had your resumes updated and started networking last Fall when you saw this effort gathering momentum. Time to Lock and load! Lots of competitors out there looking to hire 😎
Consolidation and more layoffs. We are about 5 weeks out from terrible news. Update your resumes and start looking if you already aren't.
Should be pretty clear that nobody is safe and that all that matters are quarterly profit numbers, expect the mother of all layoffs end of May/ beginning of June

Yes, another huge round of layoffs coming in June. They are doing away with Fusion Middleware and absorbing that responsibility to the core tech reps who sell database products. They will eliminate reps and SCs. They will add some headcount back to handle pure cloud sales. Not sure how it will all work out but it will result in a significant reduction in force for the sales and pre-sales teams. Good luck out there.

Well, apparently oracle is going to start TV advertising of cloud in which case what would they need qualified sales consultants for, company is doing down market with very generic cloud offering for small and medium sized businesesses, and of course web and tele sales, so bye, bye all qualified people. Basic commonality products is us!
