How long will it be after they shut a p card off till they announce that they shut your doors? I was told that the card would be in good working order in the beginning of the month. My idea is that it wont and I will be out of a job.

I'm pretty sure we still had our P-card active THROUGHOUT our liquidation. We still had to get certain supplies, and I was checking the card out to people to get them. Did your store recently change managers? The card is in a manager's name, so if they leave or switch stores, the card is supposed to be deactivated as soon as a new one is registered for the incoming manager, but that of course does not always happen in a timely manner.
Stores use it for anything, I am a QMT' and when I want to purchase ANY parts to repair the store I have to get the card straight from the store managers wallet. And if he's not there it doesn't get repaired/ ordered. 😣
I don't have a procurement card. What do the stores use it for?
It really depends, the high level of mismangement and bad process means your card could be shut off for multiple reasons. It wasn't unusual for auto centers to have to use an old terminated managers P card for 6 months while they got the new card. That and they would randomly get shut off as well. It also wasn't unusual for SACs to have to use FLS cards, if the FLS GM would allow it.
I never understood how they could screw that process up so much, but then again it was the wild west here and there when supplies were needed, and you couldn't wait to "maybe" get them via POWS (now Arriba, which I hear is better)
