Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Just don't make sense? This truly shows a company in Turmoil.... hiring and firing at will

Unbelievable. Wonder why people don't want to work at DXC look at this link then. This company is truly forked up. What a joke in the market place. Great pay or not your time could be short anyway you look at it. I am glad i am out of this dysfunctional company.

Once EDS were in the business of providing excellent I T Services in a value for money setting. Those days are long gone. Now the ethos is to charge as much as possible for as little as possible. As long as their are clients who employ incompetent purchasing staff, people who only want to look good by getting ten percent of the quoted prices while at the same time not insisting on meaningful penalties for poor delivery, this company will continue to shaft clients. Once it wasnt this way, but today, perhaps it is a combination of American and Indian business ethics, but they are no longer in the business of quality, just shafting clients.

in my team most of ppl have their resumes ready and working on getting interviews, even for less salary. This shows the current situation. the Policy is fire 20% of workforce from each team every quarter for next one year.

My point was - they have to hire U.S. citizens for jobs that require security clearance. Can't outsource and no H-1B visas. Non-US citizens cannot obtain security clearance.

Well bright guy you said: "The jobs advertised on cleared jobs.net are all for people who have security clearance - can't outsource those jobs to India." A security clearance is a joke nowadays. Even Clinton and Trump kids got one. It don't take much to get a clearance anymore. If that's true then why didn't the dysfunctional DXC company hire those folks let go by HPE, HPQ, DXC, CSC, CSRA or whatever the name they want to go buy. Why because they are clueless and dysfunctional and have a modis operandi. The ulterior motive is they are guilty of screwing people.

heard that there will be hiring and firing on a monthly basis till March 2018... thats for this financial year at DXC. the layoffs will continue into 2020.

there is both hiring and firing being done at the same time in the same teams .. all are clueless and the picking is by lucky draw.

in India firing is being done on random basis.. so much for a career at DXC .. for the paltry earnings its not risking your career and peace of mind for DXC who is only thinking money.. and layoff..

Several employees who were hired in Jan 2017 have been fired on 17 Apr. Its totally random pick by HR and management. Hardworking employees in medium salary range were also picked for layoff.

DO NOT JOIN DXC.. it will be a HIRE and FIRE company till 2020.

No right-minded contractor should touch HPE/DXC

The mid contract demands to take a 10% rate cut and regular contractor "furlough" impositions to force mid contract layoffs are an unethical disgrace

Yeah, they honestly think they can fire all their qualified, experienced people, many SMEs or highly skilled people who have solid reputations when they are customer-facing, and replace them with some sort of phantom force of workers apparently willing to work for $10k~20k less salary (or more) than the market rates.

Then again, Nefkens thinks people are "inventory" and "old inventory" is worthless, obsolete crap to be discarded and replaced with shiny, fresh "new inventory". That really tells you all you need to know about the leadership at this company.

A Joke maybe, but for people out of work almost anything is better than nothing. And they know it

I can tell you from a contracting company perspective, the rates they want to pay are a joke.
