I quit SHLD over three weeks ago and they still have me as active full-time. The reason I know this is because I am trying to get the vacation I am due, and HR told me I could not get it till I am separated from the company. What a turd of a company!

I got my unused vacation check on my last paycheck 2 weeks after I quit SHC. Your HR person was lying to you.
It's a mistake alright. I don't know about honest but I do know about lazy & not caring about this former employee. It takes two minutes to get the system updated. They may not be intentionally trying to mess with this person but they are negatively affecting him nonetheless. There really is no excuse for it.
It sounds to me like an honest mistake. Just reach out to whoever was HR for you....I dont think it is intentional.
If you are in California call the Labor Board and file a formal complaint. California state labor law states that you are paid Vacation time up to and on the official date of termination. By law, every day the manager delays terminating you in the system you accrue more vacation. Make sure you check the actual vacation hours when the check is physically handed to you. This happened in our store and the employee was successful all the way up to the official day of termination in the system.
Check with HR, you need to sign your separation paper. Need to put on there the last day your worked, and probably the last week. If you are still in the systems check to see how many hours are due you.
Contact your state authorities. You are entitled that money the day you leave.
Right they do but the store manager hasn't termed the associate in the system. All he had to do is process the termination. Doesn't need to contact 88 Sears or anything like that simply term

That doesn't make any sense. I thought they paid vacation out on the final check
