It seems to me that most people that are leaving or being laid off are more "legacy" brick &mortar Sears employees.
Does anyone know if there is a similar trend with people in online/Shop Your Way?

Rumor at Hoffman is similar to what you said- first week of May some IT and business at HQ.
I love what I do and love the people I work with. I don't think anyone that works here is dillusional. We are just trying to keep positive and help a company out. Survival of Sears? Not likely with the current model. Maybe a good ole ch 11 and a new name...SYW-Mart? Who knows but either way I will be here till the end or get laid off whichever comes first. I probably would not pass up a good opportunity if one falls in my lap though.
I dont think anyone is delusional or will be shocked. People are just taking it day by day as everyone should in life because that is how life is. Not everyone is as upset with the company as some are that post on here.
First week of May I heard for more lay-offs
There will still be tens of thousands of employees that will be shocked when the hammer falls, but you have to expect that.
Anyone expecting a good outcome out of this mess is just plain delusional.
Well I just put my notice in, they can have my full time position can't take it any longer.
I don't think it is just full time people being targeted, they are simply using a different method for part timers. A year ago I was working part time and averaged 30 hours a week becouse people kept leaving. Someone left Sears the rest in my department got more hours. Now I am lucky to get 20. Hours have been slashed, some getting as few a 5 hours a week. As people leave those remaining arw not getting more hours, but they have a lot more they are supposed to do with less time and less manpower. It is driving many people to take anything they can get away from Sears. Some are taking new jobs and running as fast as they can while others are balancing 2 or even 3 jobs to try to make ends meet. It is sad that a company would resort to cutting hours and with ot pay while increasingly adding to the stress of a low paying job and leaving its people feeling like they are unappreciated.
I know there were a few call centers that closed. It seems pretty clear that sears is trying to reduce the number of full time employees. "Legacy" employees at stores are more likely than anyone else to be full time. Well, them and technicians etc.
