There is an employee webcast today at 3pm EST supposedly Ronan will be announcing the commencement of the rift. Anybody have any details on the content matter of this webcast?

Sounds like they're hoping unlimited saves the quarter. Unlimited data drives down ARPU but brings in subs and offsets churn. Watch and wait I suppose.
They would NEVER announce a RIF (Reduction In Force) during a webcast ...They are not that stupid (I think)
Continental Rift? Of Corporate Proportions.
RIF stands for "Reading Is Fundamental" a remedial literacy program for 1st level management employees. It is badly needed as some of them apparently don't know what a "Rift" is.

RIF = Reduction In Force, i.e. layoffs. The OP said "rift" which is wrong. The OP also said Dunne is announcing layoffs in the title which is speculation as well.

They might not announce RIFs but they could suggest that cuts need to be made. That is what happened right before I was let go in November 2015. It all depends what is discussed in the webcast. It could be good news, but, with Verizon I seriously doubt it.
1) what the heck is a rift? 2) No bad news is given via webcast, it will just be another leadership spin session.
They never discuss commencement of a rif. It's announced after the fact, if even then.
