Start building out more fiber! There is less competition than in Wireless.. Once that pipe is to the house, it's a unlimited revenue stream! They should be investing alot more in Fios and also Fiber for business customers as well.

Yes I agree too! The commercials are horrible... We have have to be better....
@1sid - I agree! These commercials might go over with younger folks but I know a lot of older folks who have no idea what "drop the mic" even means. And the actor is as boring as watching paint dry. These commercials are definitely stinkers.
They could start by not wasting money on these ignorant new commercials.
Look at comcast! They have been increasing revenue the last 7 quarters! People aren't cutting the cord
but it will be through 5g, small cell, etc... way cheaper than Fiber.
Fios is not doing so hot right now.
They dont care about fios expansion ,they have all $$ tied up in media pipe and hoping that their 5g takes off,if it doesnt they will probably blame the worker as always.we will see by 2018 to 2019 as they pass their testing phase for their 5g service
"Cutting the cord" just means getting rid of your cable box. Doesn't mean using your wireless data plan in your home.
People would still pay for the fastest wired internet if Verizon chose to provide it, it's just that more and more will abandon traditional cable for ala carte service through Netflix, Amazon etc. The idea of paying a cable company or Verizon for channels you don't want is going bye bye.
It's not that the public would not like the fastest available internet, it is just that Verizon is not interested in spending money on the network so that they can be a dumb pipe for Netlfix Amazon HBO etc. They would prefer to go wireless and save on labor. It's too bad because the fastest wireless is still nowhere near the fastest wireline (includes fiber).
Who knows what products could be developed with the fastest possible home internet with speeds that provide room to grow beyond what is needed today? (Virtual reality etc.) Sadly there is no ISP willing to spend the money.
The profitable fios ship has sailed. The revenue is just not there when the trend is data only. The days of a physical line attached to your house are quickly coming to an end, not so much for business, but there is a lot of competition in that arena as well.
Lets see....build out FIOS when people are hell bent on cutting the cord...hmmmmm makes sense to me, let's spend money on something that will go away.
They should have never sold all their GTE territories to frontier . They had coverage in a lot of states , they would even be bigger than Comcast right now if they didnt sell the GTE markets . They need to re invest in fios .
Also wireless reps deserve a raise
They get paid trash compared to landline reps
Having market share only in the northeast is not going to save this company. It will be sold off soon enough as Verizon desperately needs cash.

Lowell can't see past wireless
It would be good for the consumer and good for the nation, but they aren't going to do that.
Judging by their recent statements and actions, Verizon has no intention of building out FiOS. The only fiber they are really interested in is to be used for 5g.
They are saving money by not building out FiOS, but it is slowing down our broadband. It was bad for our infrastructure to leave this to the profit motive. See the Rural Electrification Act for comparison.
