We were told by leadership this morning that they were 100% not happening and that more HCM RN positions would be created in the coming months. I just don't know if I should believe it or not though. I feel like leadership has no credibility and would lie to us if they thought it would settle us down.

MF specifically said in a meeting attended by many people that our jobs were safe when someone asked that specific question. This was in Dec. 2016 or Jan 2017...not sure...IN February many of us were laid off....sooooo I would not trust whatever is said. Obviously MF knew about the layoffs that were coming.
To further explain my reply. I don't think it matters who you heard this info from. If you are under a coach that you think would be truthful then you might weigh that. However if you heard it from a COM on up I really would allow that zero impact in my life. I would not trust it and I would choose to move on with whatever plan you have. In light of recent events I would suggest planning to lose your job. Be prepared, update your resume, print your evaluations & so on. If you are not laid off then great. Or, maybe you hate your job like many HCMs and this is a good time to start looking elsewhere. As for feeling protected because you are an RN??? NO. You are not exempt from being laid off and as a matter of fact you are the highest paid front facing staff (as a group). So when they are looking at cuts...
You better believe they would lie to us ! They are trying real hard to save their own hide . They are whittling off the bottoms of their teams ... weeding ppl out . I don't trust one thing that comes out of their mouths . Koolaid drinking crooks .
Maybe the poster was asking if it was told in a meeting like other departments have been told via conference calls, not the specific leader, if it was your coach, but if you said leadership, was it a conference call with MF with your department type of thing
Obviously I'm not going to give my leaders name on here. Why even ask someone that?
To me that is a big uh-oh for PHCs and non RNs.
What reason do you have to trust that is the truth? We were told how great HAH was doing right up until the layoffs. So based on past experience I would say that what you were told is the goal but the truth of the situation is anyone's guess.
What leadership told you that?
