Why would OP who doesn't even work at Intel get a severance package? I don't get it.

Well, at least, there will be an ACT. Lol. Time to get rid of all those worthless middle managers who contribute nothing and are hiding under a rock.
Then you should have taken the packages offered last year. In the USA you will likely just get a week of severance pay for each year of work next time around.
The packages will be standard, not enhanced like ACT 2016. Don't count on anything else.
You will be lucky to get 2 weeks pay.
