Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Treadmills n lawnmowers

Why are the Sears store just packed with treadmills and lawn mowers? I've never seen so many in one place.

Not and idea they came up with it was forced on them. Most vendors going to cash and carry. SHC cannot afford to have any inventory so everything is deliver at time of sale.

Typical Sears customs will buy a treadmill in an ill fated attempt to get fit AND a tractor to mow their 1/4 acre lot. Win-win. Unless you are the vendor.

It can't be any worse than what one should expect with the Crapsman name on it, right. Might sell better if someone can't see the POS they are buying.

that's not no displays, that's no inventory to sell. Nice spin though

You're supposed to buy all those items sight unseen? Another good idea by SHC. Especially with how they take care of their customers post purchase. There's going to be a lot of satisfied customers. Not.

I don't know what Sears stores you are referring to,but not in my store,in fact we are going to be a trial store in lawn and garden with nothing on display anymore but tractors, everything else will be self service, mowers, weedwackers, pressure washers, chain saws,no displays during season to see how these items sell. Anyone else doing this in their stores? There are supposed to be 50 throughout the country.

Do you mean they put them in stores to fill up the empty spaces and make as if they are full of inventory?

They are just clearing out the warehouses (DC). Anything that is seasonal is being sent. Also, any large items take up the bare floor space.

Sears is being cut off by its suppliers, so whoever is dumb enough to give them stock, they'll take it.

Apparently, the treadmill and lawnmower suppliers are desperate to sell stock, even knowing they'll probably never get paid.
