Sounds like a resurgence of Ethernet vs infiniband, Aries and omnipath. Intel acquired these technologies and developed omnipath to be competive in this market segment but any opinions on success or failure? Did intel actually make a smart aquisition?

Intel will excel at anything related to "cluster". lol
Watch out for opencapi it's got huge support from AMD, IBM, Google, Nvidia. Intel will have it's hands full trying to compete against this tsunami. I don't work for any of these companies.
