Regarding Chicago I know United has laid off a good number of managing directors and is now working their way to managers and then senior analysts as part of a reorganization. It's very tough at there, always be looking at opportunities especially when you are at a company like SHLD in its current state. It does take some people much longer than others to be successful at a job search. Especially if they have unique skill set that there aren't many job openings posted for, some people have more connections, are more able to pull off a good interview or haven't been interviewed in many years which I suspect is the case for some of the Sears management employees. Best of luck to everyone in their transitions and I hope it is fairly quick, seamless and not overly painful. Definitely be supportive of each other and like yesteryear was the time to start hitting the pavement networking and job searching.

Earnings will be released on the 16th. Layoffs to follow on the 17th. Meetings in HQ already scheduled.
How are any of supposed to get any work done with the threat of being fired constantly being held over us? And yes, we understand that we should 'just get another job' but it's not as easy as that for some people. I know one person who's husband is very ill and she cannot simply leave her job due to the upheaval it will have on him, some are at the end of their careers with no hope of competing with the surplus of youngsters out there, I guess we all have Uber, another fine company that looks out for its employees.
Have our Q4 results even been published yet? A second round may coincide with a future announcement. Last years cuts at HQ were 250+ this year 130, wth this years results and stock position significantly worse I really can't see this being the end of them. Keep your ear to the ground and share what you hear
Is the job market in metro Chicago that bad that people aren't leaving in droves on their own accord? Or are people dumb enough to think the Titanic really won't sink?
I see this: http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/ct-illinois-layoffs-united-airlines-0308-biz-20170307-story.html
Sears Holdings listed 120 layoffs. The Hoffman Estates-based retail giant, which owns Sears and Kmart, said last month that it laid off 130 corporate employees, most at its headquarters, as part of a restructuring plan aimed at cutting at least $1 billion in costs this year.
I presume this means 120 more, probably at HQ.
Store side or AP? If it's true, sadly not surprising.
Do they ever really stop?
