Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

WFH Termination Today

I was a full-time WFH employee for many years. I refused to report to my assigned location a month ago due to extreme distance. My response was sent to legal a few weeks ago. This morning I was involuntary separated from the company with severance. Hope this helps. Good luck to all.

Hired in with this agreement - hand shake? verbal? or a signed legal contract. There is a difference. Hon can do what they want; if you have a legal binding contract then you get what the contract says. This is no different than going to work one day and a mandatory meeting is called by your manager out of the blue, you go and are told the group is gone in 30 days. You have 30 days to find someone else who will hire you or you are out the door. And all your ratings were 1 or 2.Or how about being told your job is now contract, here are your options. It is called life.

Sorry....those getting axed aren't the bloodsuckers. The bloodsuckers are those that can't manage their own bowel movements....but collect their MIP anyway.

Top performer. If your case went to Legal it is a matter of time before separation. Took mine one month. Exceptions are approved by corporate HR and if it is in Legal no hope as it has been denied or disallowed. Then out of the blue a meeting with manager and HR and you are terminated. Sorry to be harsh just truthful. Best advice call your manager or HR and ask if case is in Legal. If it is just start preparing. They will tell you if it is mine did.

I am one of the few individuals left that WFH (Field Service) and have been with the company for 32 years. Even though I not impacted I am beside myself seeing this go on. I know many good employees that were hired into the company with this agreement to work from home and now this. It is just wrong. I think Leadership wants people to go. They are trying to sell of parts of the business or outsource it like they did Tucson and Toranto. i cannot believe this is happening to us after all these years of hard work and loyalty. Gonna start looking. The ship is sinking. I wish all you that are impacted Gods blessing and help in this most difficult time

What was your latest 9 block ranking? Curious if Honeywell is treating top performers and "middle of the road" WFH hold outs the same way.

Wow that's all it takes to get a severance pkg.? I guess many people that didn't get accepted for voluntary RIF know what to do now? Everyone thought if you were fired for WFH, there would be no severance pay.

Five Engineers gave notice this week at Torrance. Sounds like they should have just worked from home.. Ha Ha Ha Ha... LoL

Is the severance package the same as before? No policy change on that?

Not sure what you are trying to say. There are WFH people that are long distance > 2 hours drive to any Honeywell facility. I, for one of them, have been a very high performer for over 10 years as a teleworking lead engineer. This is not my definition of a SLUG!!! We are a group of very high performing people that have been successfully working in a teleworking environment for long periods of time. If we were not doing it successfully we would have been denied this privilege a long time ago. The removal of the WFH is not based on performance and I resent that insinuation. This is a policy that the CEO decided to reverse. Obviously you are watching this thread and not personally impacted by it. There are a number of us that are waiting to find out if we are losing our jobs.

Thank you for letting us know you were notified. The rest of us with long distance WFH are waiting. I am guessing it won't be long now.

regardless of whether or not anything you said is true, the fact that you took the time to type that trash proves to me that Honeywell is measurably better today without you.

I miss WFH. Especially porking the stay at home mom across the street during lunch. She gave me a hummer during a status meeting once.

Yes yesterday was the day for me too. I felt like breaking into s chorus of the Johnny Paycheck song ( look it up) but I was so happy . I too got severance, medical and some banked vacation.

Now after 30 years with Hon and 1.5 WFH I can retire knowing I did my very best and Hon is the looser in all of this.

OP: Very sorry to hear; glad you received severance. Thank you for sharing. Good luck to you. Clear message from leadership that flexibility is gone. Respect is gone. Trust is gone. Time for all self-respecting employees who can leave, to leave.

120 mile commute one way. Been WFH for past 9 years and with company total of 15 years. Really a bad day for everyone at the local level. This was a corporate decision and HR and Management just had to do their job. Company is serious with enforcing the policy. Under the circumstances, I feel I was treated fairly with the severance.
