Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

We are stronger with Diversity

We have seen many negative comments on this board about diversity in the workplace. I can only surmise the demographic that is angry here with that terminology. A large portion of people are angry that others are being given a chance to succeed at what many feel is solely their company.

But you need to come to the realization that we are in a new world now. One in which the doors have been opened for many different types of qualified individuals, from all types of racial, national and gender backgrounds.

This type of work environment once had a dominant white-male culture. With changing demographics it's only appropriate that the workplace be representative of society in general.

We should all welcome the changing of the guard, and to come to the realization that there are all types of people, that bring with them, an endless supply of talent.

They also bring with them much more relevant and current skill-sets to the table now.

"They also bring with them much more relevant and current skill-sets to the table now."

Seriously? You're making the argument that a reason to replace employees is that Dell is unwilling to retrain top performers in the latest technologies?

DIVERSITY: popular to talk about and "promote" but everyone knows it is just the sleazy way they justify cheap labor. But that was a nice speech... it is almost like you believe your rhetoric. Ummm, you may be "diversity" but you're still being used like everyone else. They are using you to undercut salaries because they are greedy and that insatiable greed will never be satisfied. So, then, they will replace you with all of those qualified, educated, experienced unemployed people who can do your job better than you with their eyes closed because they used to do your job before "diversity" was "in" and they will not only do your job, they will do it better and they will do it cheaper because they are unemployed. Then you, Mr. Diversity, are going to be in a world of hurt because you stupidly and arrogantly thought they really believe in DIVERSITY and you are safe: well they don't and you're not, you're a tool and that's what they are counting on.

A couple posters on here look like idiot trolls, if you ask me. They couldn't possibly have worked at Dell or EMC (now Dell as EMC is stone cold dead).

Pushing one and zeros doe snot add value. Has anyone built a server, stacked, wired , deployed , then talk. Most sales folks at Dell haven't even done remotely close to seeing a server . They want these guys to see. Ha

My group has diversity - We have 3 people who show up every day and work. We have 3 who don't. One of the 3 who doesn't show up is an alcoholic, therefore he's a protected class. We are convinced our manager has a second job, as a manager sighting is as rare as bigfoot. There's 4 salary's which could be cut, most likely the 3 who show up will be cut.

True diversity. Of American workers. Yes.

Outsourcing or hiring from India with the visas No.

Ought to be illegal.

Obviously Dell has outsourced the people that create these posts as well, based on how it reads. And it is kind of racist against a certain demographic. I had dealt with Dell IT in the past few years and they seemed lost and had a hard time figuring things out.. Just don't forget that alot of people that are laid off from Dell may re-enter the field as customers that may not be interested in purchasing from Dell. I know I will not be.

Joke of the century. Have you seen recent releases across all product lines including Unity, VMAX and XtemoIO

We released with all known issues, as we lost talented employees. Long live unhappy customers and EMC support

I think you are HR. Definitely not DELL EMC engineer.

You have no clue about culture, projects or road map, just like higher management including M Dell.
