Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Are you guys aware that pretty much every single customer hates us?

The products are typically OK - in line with competition... Guess which part they do not like...

Sales people not getting commissions for on-prem sales. No investment in keeping on-prem apps current. Only selling on-prom to ezisting on-prem customers for those apps

I work on the on prem apps side and Oracle is just focusing on Cloud, not turning back on on prem. Lot of products still have a product path well into the future and we can still sell on prem products.

Funny how it starts at the top, if the top guy and his lieutenants are not customer focused the sh-- just rolls downhill and customers can tell they are not a priority

Very true, they have dumped all on-prem products overnight. Customers hate us for that. They purchased complex enterprise solutions which are all abandoned by Oracle now. All of them are looking at alternatives now which will not be Oracle.

My friend is the controller of a big European electric appliance company. They hate Oracle. When there is a chance, he will switch to other software vendor.

@2shm has it right:

  • contracts

  • support

  • pricing

I dunno about hate, but Oracle is very difficult to deal with and customers do not like that. Customers have repeated concerns about contracts, support, pricing, etc - Oracle just basically ignores them.

Can confirm. Customers hate you. Oracle is in the rear view mirror. Customers now embrace AWS, Azure, Google, Salesforce, Workday, Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Impala and so much more.

Oracle is dying while the leaderships siphons off the last bit of cash.

Not to mention that issues of support, now moving to India and Romania because they can do it so much better. Is support important for cloud? You think!

Indeed and not goes to LE's and SC's rapacious capitalism of screwing customers as much as oracle can. You reap what you sow and the hate is showing up in declining revenues and customers' unwillingness to trust oracle with cloud. Game, set, match to the competition!
