Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

We're being forced to call more and work overtime to fill the cash cows!

It's ridiculous to know they are laughing all the way to the bank while the elderly are not able to pay deductibles or afford to see a doctor. When will the madness end. This is a slap in the face to all the hard working employees that lost their jobs and for those that are in fear of losing it every day. I'm welcoming a lay off and ask that it be done sooner than later. I am tired of feeling like my work isn't good enough.

I am who I claim to be. Send me an email to cotts@wdrb.com and I'll reply. I'm a reporter. I have no reason to be anonymous on this board. Humana can't fire me. I want Humana employees to know who I am so they can pass along any information that might be helpful.

The e-mail posted matches the e-mail on his articles. I know of associates who has reached out to reporters.

Note that this is an anonymous board, and that @4pyp may or may not be a person he claims to be. Although I don't see why would someone misrepresent himself, there is no way for us to confirm this, so treat it just as any other rumor - with a little grain of salt. Just sayin'

To answer your question about Broussard's pay and 401-K: The $19.7 million total includes his 401-K contribution. The company match on Broussard's 401-K was $19,875. Under IRS rules, the maximum salary that can deferred to 401-K is $265,000. For executives (not sure about everyone else), the Humana match is 125% of their first 6 percent of contributions (which is $19,875 on a $265,000 salary). Because of the limit on 401-K contributions, Humana also contributes to an additional retirement plan for executives beyond the 401-K. Broussard got an additional $72,783 from the company under that plan in 2016. This is all detailed in the proxy filing with the SEC.

To paraphrase another poster, he could not justify that salary even if his piss cured cancer.

So a 19.7 million dollar salary included perks like the personal use of the company jet, financial planning assistance, and a 25,000 matching contribution to charity. Does it include the 401K company matching? It didn't say. I know peons like us get company matching up to a certain percent of our incomes. I wonder if that is the same for him or if his compensation is included in this figure. A 4% match of millions of dollars adds a lot of money to a retirement account. To recap, 19.7 million dollars was the salary last year. Divide this by 52 weeks in the year and you get: $379,846.16 as a weekly salary. Divide this by a 40 hour work week and you get: $9,471.15 an hour.

So basically, the compensation committee changed the rules so Bruce could get his big payout, because he couldn't get it legitimately?
