Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Heard on the News, but not told at work

just heard this morning on the news that State Farm Bloomington is laying off 35 employees...wanted 54 originally. They probably forced them out. oh but they say they still going to keep corporate in Bloomington. Maybe the building. The thing is that why am I hearing this on the news? it would have been nice to hear about prior to that hear at work. They used to tell us all the time of news, good and bad prior to the TV news releases. They just do not include us anymore in anything. The new chief in charge is a joke. He is just hired to "put the hammer down" which he thoroughly enjoys. It is all about the bonuses our vps receive. Compared to what the regular joe receives it is a great sin. This lay off is just the beginning. there are more coming. There are hundreds retiring this month, they could not give those 35 people a job? Seriously?

I have worked for the company for 28 years and the last 2 have been impossible. Constant unnecessary changes, total micro management and second guessing any and every decision you make on a claim. Anyone who can retire is getting out and quick. It used to be a great company to work for and have insurance with. They are making great strides to destroy 90 years of a great reputation.
