Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Its simple really. AMD is a tech company run by engineers with the CEO a well decorated engineer. Intel use to be...

a company run by well decorated engineers...But now its run by sales and marketing and HR where good engineers take a back seat....And have to subjected to bullsheet HR things like URM , gender neutral bathrooms.., and hiring based on quota, not versus talent....and in order to pay for all this overhead bullsheet...Thy got to cut the expensive good engineers and replace them with cheaper overseas engineers....Actually, the really good engineers go elsewhere where they are paid and respected much better. The ones that stay at Intel cant find anyone else paying them better for their lack of talent.

OP Mf6cE9y-1pqd, Do some research and you will find out that way too many WHITE folks who are LESS qualified (with no degrees) than an URM are promoted...It all boils down to that white privilege...A URM has to be several times qualified than a white person and work many times harder than a white person to be promoted...

Your statement below is non sequitur

"Meanwhile, URM... Doesn't matter what your competency is...Put a few PowerPoints, and you'll move up quickly"

Funny how when you look at the great technology companies you see in the leaders brilliant leaders. Intel had in its heyday Robert, Gordon and Andy. Looks across the companies blowing it away and for the most part there is brilliance in the corner office.

And in Intel's corner office? We have a graduate B$er from San Jose State with nothing of any brilliance leading the company. Is it any wonder intel is going down the tubes.

Why would a young and aspiring engineer want to come to intel? Only a fool would join now if they do their research!

Nothing against women at all with credibility...For example, Dr. Su at AMD can carry her own weight and some more.

But that's the point. ........it's Doctor Su..

With emphasis on Doctor. MIT Dr....To be exact.

Oh well. As a talented male engineer, why would you want to be at intel? You are the wrong gender. You get to work and hope for that 4-5% raise and compete with the other male engineers for that once in 5-6 years promotion...Meanwhile, URM... Doesn't matter what your competency is...Put a few PowerPoints, and you'll move up quickly. Talk somewhat intelligently and get fast tracked even faster. And if you can write a line of hello world code...Heck, you'll be director in no time.

This smells so much like Motorola and we know how well that turned out.

All true. Not to mention clueless insecure Sr. exec proud of childhood ambition to be a hairdresser...little clue or interest in tech, just upward mobility...riding fumes to glory...watch how competition out her true capabilities.
