Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

We Need Our Jobs

Many CIT Specialist roles have been sent to Manila including my role. Many roles of the CSS Help Desk are also now in Manila. Looks like Humana will be sending more roles overseas and laying off associates or transferring associates to new teams in the next few months. A transfer is better than a layoff but will there be enough roles left in the states to transfer everyone? This is sad.

@5Bajj ... There is some truth to that statement, but it is also a fact that many Americans in telephone customer service roles don't always speak clearly enough to be understand by some older members. As a care manager, I always stayed on the phone with a member until I made sure they could hear the CS rep clearly and understood what was being said.

Over sea workers with heavy accents are not well received by blue collar members. Humana may regret this move when open enrollment comes around this fall.

This idea of sending jobs overseas has been prevalent for decades but answer me this. Look at the clothes you wear, the car you drive, the phone you use. Watch a Scary movie recently? Check where it was made and who the extra's are. You are as responsible for sending jobs overseas as anyone. You/WE demand cheap stuff. This isn't just a Humana issue this is a US issue. If Humana don't follow suit they can't compete. The solution to this is in Washington. All of the Senate and Congress are in love with the Global economy. Hold their feet to the fire at the next election. Red or Blue they all need to make a commitment to US jobs.

The remaining CSS helpdesk analysts were informed yesterday 2/20/2018 that we are also being laid off. 60 days to help finish up training the people who took our jobs for penny's on the dollar over seas then so long good luck but we don't care about your or your family's anymore. It's nothing more than American Corporate greed at its finest.

Humana LOVES to send American jobs away... think about how much money they save (to give as bonus to upper Management) when they use 'consultants' (which are mostly Syntel contractors from India). For each contractor, they do not have to contribute to a 401k, to social security, to medicare..... Plus, the $ they do spend on contractors they get to declare as consulting fees, and get a tax break. People who can't believe that there is no money left in our social security system, need to open their eyes. Humana makes all their profits off American membership, but won't pay for American workers, instead they choose to undermine our economy and send it to other countries, so they can line their pockets.
