Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

CEO Embarrassment to the Company & the Industry...Again

CERAWeek 2014: Big JW declared that $100 a barrel was too low a price for oil and that consumers needed to pay more to keep the industry producing.

CERAWeek 2017: Big JW opined let the poor get rich before worrying about the environment...

Houston Chronical:

"He said this is happening in China, failing to note that Chinese pollution is the worst in the world and is now reaching the U.S. West Coast (hello San Francisco). It is a startling argument to suggest that every poor country should become as rich as China before worrying about the global environment. When Watson wonders why so many people hate his industry, he need only play back the video from his presentation".

Runs the company like he runs his mouth

I just heard another 150 facility engineers will be released next week. Facility engineers are some of the most knowledgeable in Chevron with practical hands on plant experience carrying the weight and mentoring the inexperienced engineers and recent hires. The madness continues

Jw and the board at Cvx have destroyed a great collaboration of American companies built by our fathers generation of scientist and engineers including Gulf oil, Unocal, Texaco, and Stabdard Oil

@Mfebr6X , (the OP) is an embarrassment to Chevron. Once he is cut, the company will be much better off. It is obvious from his pathetic post.

Patience, 1oeq. Soon enough most of us will go work somewhere else, once we get laid off.

The situation is dire. Chevron will NOT get rid of him because the investors believe him, despite the financials heading south. They want to believe. So Chevron will continue the death spiral.

Chevron will boost the dividend, and shrink financially unless oil takes a big upturn (which a 50/50 proposition at best.

The only thing in the way of he did was jettison 10% of the work force and he didn't do a go job of that, based on the talent that went out the door.

Meanwhile, he and the PSG 26+ will continue to feed at the trough until the company collapse and is acquired by better run Majors.

Did I hear a Whooosh and Clink sound? I think JW just sunk another eagle on the links. Little does he care about more layoffs to come. Everyone, save your own asses.

JW also said that the dividend will increase this year to maintain Chevron's dividend aristocrat status. In addition, he said in 2014 that $100 barrel oil is the new $20 barrel and the price can ONLY go up. Guess what happened the next year, in 2015? Yet stock analysts and investors believe everything he says. Look, this guy is not only an embarrassment, but an out of touch with reality elitist.

JW has got to go. Look what failures Chevron has had in recent years under his watch.
