Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Humana CEO says employees are "engaged" and "excited about the future."

I just posted this story: http://www.wdrb.com/story/34916803/humana-ceo-were-not-coming-back-to-obamacare

If you work at Humana, I am always looking for employees to tell me what's going on, and I will keep you completely confidential. Please get in touch:

Humana is no longer the respected company it once was.

Yes I know for sure management is watching this site closely. My coach told me not to trust information posted online .

Post ID: @MkBXtg3-zmd but the poster made it clear he or she " was told that employment assistance would be provided to me (and everyone else that was laid off) and that I could apply for other jobs within the company. The truth is, that NEVER happened. Humana never even gave me directions to the unemployment office or the address. This happened after many years of hard work and dedication to Humana as an employee. "

It does not sound like the employee was asking the company to be a friend or asking for extras, but as someone who worked there for many years, and was not given the opportunity to apply for other jobs in the company or unemployment assistance etc.....

The average everyday working American is told to "get over it" or "who cares" in regards to a no fault layoff. Meanwhile, the CEO of Humana has a salary of 19.7 million...

It is the decent thing to do to assist a laid off employee through no fault of their own. Especially if the whole role and purpose of the business is to HELP people.

I can tell from the previous response that management or the executives at Humana are trolling this page. I can't say that I'm surprised.

Why on earth would you expect Humana to give you directions to the unemployment office? And, many people have been there with babies in their arms... when m sorry you were laid off almost a decade ago and it still impacts you to this day, and you are right that American jobs need to stay here, but part of that is self sufficiency, and being able to do for yourself, and not expect the company that laid you off to be your friend, it is a business...they owe you a paycheck for doing your job.

Thank you Chris Otts for bringing light to this story. Americans have freedom of speech to talk about what's going on. No criminal acts are being committed on this thread. Americans are tired of being silenced by the CEO's of the big corporate companies. Americans are tired of standing in the unemployment line while jobs are being outsourced overseas. Anyone that is trying to silence an employee/former employee has never felt the pain of standing in the unemployment line with a infant child in their arms all while jobs are being outsourced overseas. When I was laid off years ago, I was told that employment assistance would be provided to me (and everyone else that was laid off) and that I could apply for other jobs within the company. The truth is, that NEVER happened. Humana never even gave me directions to the unemployment office or the address. This happened after many years of hard work and dedication to Humana as an employee. I heard the other day from another former Humana employee that jobs at Humana were being outsourced to not just India but the Philippines also. Americans want our jobs back in America!

No disrepect poster, but it was in the news....so, it's not an outsider knowing something, it wouldn't be on the hi page....

Outsiders seem to know more than we do. I did not see anyone post about borrowing 1billion dollars this week on our Hi page

Chris....stop. All that is going on is cutbacks and restructuring, like any business. Many of us have opinions, anger and ideas, but no facts. Given there is an "outsider" listening to our venting and wanting to use our anger to get a story? Like the other poster said....sketchy

I was laid off from Humana 7 years ago. The prior year I was told not to worry about job security...nobodys was getting laid off. Layoffs were not coming according to management at Humana. Then 2010 came around I was laid off and had to head to the unemployment office with my infant child in my arms. I was forced by Humana to sign a contract that said I would not say anything negative about Humana. If I did, I would lose my severance package benefits. Blackmail at it finest! About a year later I found out that jobs were being outsourced to India. Also Humana hired in temps for less pay and no benefits. I have no respect for Humana to this day.

Humana has been a horrible company to work for in the last 2 years and only proves to get worse. They have shown that they only care about making more money to keep for themselves while raising the cost for the Medicare members. I'm sick to my stomach every time I hear a new story about members going without food/medication to pay their premiums while BB is pocketing millions! How is that fair and when does it stop? Please publish that!

May have borrowed that amount because they are negotiating a buyout with another company

So guess they are still not able to pay their bills if they borrowed that amount this week. In 2017 Humana had not offered individual plans in many states. They have been dropped from many providers and hospitals due to nonpayment. That is why enrollment went down with Advantage members for 2017. Many members had to travel long distances to see participating md or visit hospital for non emergency services.

I get you're reporting news, but it's kind of sketchy to troll here for the other side of the story you published, you gain an "inside scoop"....but, kind of sketchy to be trolling here for info.

I'm not sure who is excited and engaged?? I am excited about my new job and my last day at Humana. MF is going to give us a lecture today, that should be enlightening, not of course! Something started happening here last fall, it just hit rock bottom after the merger fell through. I will never work for Humana again, I will counsel every Medicare eligible person I know to not buy a Humana Medicare plan.
