Alan Lacy was no prize. He was the CFO, and only got the reins because they could not attract real talent after Arthur Martinez got let go. Art Mart was at least a real retail CEO. Under him, the company was still growing.

I guess I missed that pebble post. ;-( I was too busy solving delivery problems.
re: Eddie on Pebble
Holy sh-- that was amazing. He looked more out of touch than usual, given the layoffs that happened down the hall from me!
Also, the volume of brown nosing that was coming from people with titles of director or higher was... unseemly. Getting to those positions requires some savvy and knowledge of how to play the game. Suggests to me that having some dignity can quickly become a resume-generating event.
Alan Lacy and the board at the time are to blame for this. Sears went downhill right after the ink dried on that deal. I'm wondering if Eddie will ever step aside and let someone else run the company. Probably to late.
And meanwhile, on Pebble, Eddie's raving about his wife emailing him about having found a great pair of jeans at Sears. Cue the hundreds of immediate likes and sycophantic praise.
This is a reminder that it's never over.
